Fertility help at Mirfield Hypnotherapy Centre

Many of our clients tell us that modern life leaves them feeling a bit stressed and it’s widely accepted that stress isn’t good for our bodies, but did you know that stress can impact your fertility?

How Stress Impacts Fertility

Your body naturally prevents conception during times of stress, because adrenaline is released by your body, which signals that conditions are not right for conception. Adrenaline prevents your body using progesterone, an essential hormone responsible for fertility. Stress also forces the pituitary gland to release more prolactin, which further increases the risk of infertility. Furthermore, stress boosts stress hormones, such as cortisol, which reduces the body’s main sex hormone (GnRH), reducing ovulation, sexual activity and sperm count.  All of these factors combine to reduce your chances of conceiving naturally.

How Can Hypnotherapy Help Fertility?

In you’re having difficulty conceiving, it may be that stress is a factor. Therefore, if you have had fertility tests carried out and have found that there are no medical reasons for your infertility, it’s time to look at the amount of stress in your life. Hypnotherapy is relaxing in itself, but we can help you understand your stress, assist you to relax deeply and also show you how to help yourself so that you can boost your chances of conceiving.
